These Terms govern use of Open Video Quiz, an educational video-quiz service and Condiscere project. By creating a teacher account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
Use the service only for lawful educational purposes. If you enter or direct students to enter personal information, you represent that you are authorized to use that information for the educational activity and that you will follow applicable school or district policies and legal requirements for notice, consent, access, retention, and deletion.
Provide accurate teacher account information, keep credentials secure, and do not share teacher credentials with unauthorized users. You are responsible for activity performed through your account except where caused by a failure of the service.
Do not collect more student information through Open Video Quiz than is reasonably needed for the educational activity. Student email accounts are not required. Open Video Quiz handles student information as described in the Privacy Policy, including its retention and deletion rules.
You retain ownership of content you create or import, subject to any rights belonging to third parties. You grant Open Video Quiz a nonexclusive license to host, copy, process, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the service, make backups, and provide the features you request.
When quiz content is published to the community library, you authorize Open Video Quiz to display and distribute that educational quiz content and allow other teachers to copy and use it within the service. Do not publish content you do not have the right to share. Community quiz copies may become independent copies in another teacher's library.
Do not use the service to violate law or school policy; infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights; distribute malicious, abusive, or unlawful material; interfere with security or availability; access another user's private information without authorization; or attempt to bypass service limits or authentication.
Open Video Quiz can interact with or display services provided by third parties, including YouTube and infrastructure/email providers. Your use of those third-party services may also be governed by their terms and policies. Open Video Quiz is not endorsed by YouTube or Edpuzzle.
The service may be updated, interrupted, limited, or discontinued. Features may change as the project develops. Reasonable efforts are made to preserve teacher data, but teachers should keep appropriate backups of important instructional material and records.
The Privacy Policy is part of these Terms. Teachers may request deletion of their account and associated private data by contacting [email protected]. Schools and authorized requesters may also request review or deletion of student information as described in the Privacy Policy.
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the extent permitted by law. Open Video Quiz does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every video or device, or that automatically generated or community-supplied educational content is accurate or appropriate for a particular class. Teachers remain responsible for reviewing instructional content before use.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Open Video Quiz is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
If these Terms change materially, the effective/version date will be updated. New teacher registrations record the version accepted at registration.
